Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Review (XSX)

It’s Bunkers & Badasses, Baybee!

Welcome to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. What better way is there to while away your time in space than a game of Bunkers & Badasses.

A table-top fantasy RPG being played by Valentine, Frette, and you, The Newbie. And with Tiny Tina as the Dungeon Master, well, anything can happen.

All in a very Borderlands way of course.

Weird West, review

Weird West is truly is a weird one. Ostensibly a Western, yet nary a gee-tar twang or corny rattle of spurs. Instead, a strange, electronic ambience, a strong leaning towards the supernatural, and a distinct lack of darn-tootin’ voiced characters.

Weird West immediately puts you on the back foot, subverting expectations. For instance, I initially shot at a circling flock of vultures early in the game, collecting their questionable meat to cook at a fire for a health boost.

Only to realise that each bullet is precious in this world, and I had wasted all of mine.

West of Dead, [reviewed on PC]

West of Dead is one of those games where if at first you don’t succeed, then try, try, try again.

A twin stick shooter featuring a dead protagonist cowboy with a flaming skull for a head

West of Dead is a procedurally generated shooter in the vein of Dead Cells. Death is a certainty and around just about every corner. The more you die, the more you get to grips with the nuances and fine details that make this game tick.

Historians will note that being alive in 2019 inevitably meant unavoidable exposure to Borderlands 3. There were campaigns on all fronts, it was a war fought globally. Including watching from the sidelines as special people were flown around for international previews. Even having their ego stroked by being sent roses to crow about the launch of a trailer. Yes, a trailer.

At the end of the day, whether you were ‘influenced’ or not – how did it play?
