Judgement review (Xbox Series X)

I reviewed Sega’s Judgement, a spin-off from the company’s Yakuza series, a year ago on this site.

Now that I’ve played it again on Xbox Series X, my opinion still hasn’t changed: It’s one of the best games from studio Ryu Go Gotuku and if you’re a fan of the Yakuza series then you need to play this. It really is that simple.

Bayonetta and Vanquish Review (Xbox One X)

I like this idea, I like it a lot. There are plenty of remasters/re-releases coming out these days, and rightly so. There are more than a few games that NEED to be seen by people new to the gaming scene.

Yes, many will seek out past gems and try them out. But a lo-fi game in a hi-fi world won’t get the same response as it did a decade ago. Making a few tweaks to the visuals is the way to go. Especially to grab the attention of the younger generation. And that is exactly what PlatinumGames have done to their two classics, Bayonetta and Vanquish.

Yakuza Zer0, PS4 Review

The latest entry into a long running and respected franchise from Sega has turned back the clock and dropped players into a prequel of sorts. It’s a clever move and one that makes the experience more attractive to Yakuza virgins like myself.

That clock in question has been turned back to 1988 and you get to ‘kind of’ free roam about in Kamurocho, something of a Red Light district in Tokyo. So, its time to dust off your knuckles, slip on a sharp suit and experience some exotic Japanese culture.
