Borderlands 4 is a return to form for the franchise, after bit of a miss-step with the design choices in number 3. Borderlands 4 is full-on channelling Borderlands 2 energy, but with a lot more modern refinement to the gameplay loop and endgame.

Baby Steps is a fantastic example of what Indie Developers can do with their creative freedom. No major publisher would have signed off on this game and its very unique mechanics, which won’t be for everyone, but the fact it has been made is a credit to the indie games scene and cult status is sure to be the result.

Console gaming has had an ongoing compromise for the last couple of generations. 30fps at upscaled 4K-ish… with maybe Ray Tracing…or, a very distinct “OR”…60fps with some weird resolution of 1100p-ish if ya lucky. My default turn of phrase in my articles was often akin too: “Its 2025, we should be able to have 60fps with something close to 4K graphics!”
