How do you take a big angry Spartan, who has a thing for killing Gods, ripping out eyeballs and taking sexy baths with naked ladies and turn him into a complex, heart-broken character, who is a father that knows he isn’t up to the responsibility of the role.

Well if you are Sony, you give Santa Monica Studios a boat load of money, a heap of time and the creative freedom to completely re-imagine what it is to be a God Of War.

Burnout Paradise HD Remastered, PS4 Review

For many Burnout Paradise was the best of the series, an open world racing game chock full of stunts, jumps, races and sexy cars, not forgetting the spectacular crashes crumpling som of the shiniest crashes to grace the PS3 or Xbox360.

It was something of a pleasant surprise that the HD rework was announced a mere few weeks before release, building hype and expectation amongst the people that wanted to be taken back to Paradise City.

They will not be disappointed. No silly narrative, no loot boxes, no customisation. Just balls to wall, pedal to the metal, smash me up in hail of sparks fun.

Burnout Paradise Remastered – March 16th!

Well, take me down to Paradise City!

A small, but very nice surprise to know that it won’t be long before we get given the chance to race, jump and smash our way across Paradise City in the ultimate car prang adventure – again.

Personally, I will always be a bigger fan of Burnout 2, and then Burnout 3: Takedown, but Paradise City stacks up above the competition and that includes a good chunk of its EA stablemates in the NFS franchise.

Either way, March 16th is just around the corner and who wouldn’t want to cruise under those HD blue skies?

Shadow of the Colossus Remake, PS4 Video Review

The 2005 Shadow of the Colossus on Playstation 2 was a masterpiece of game design.

Sony have now seen fit to give it a new lick of paint and smooth off its rough ‘old-school’ edges. Importantly though, the Developer entrusted with this remake BluePoint Games, have treated Shadow of the Colossus with the respect it deserves.

It is arguably one of the most important games in recent memory and they could have dragged it into 2018 with some slick, sweeping, modern changes…….thankfully they haven’t.
