Norton 360 Premium review (PC)

The day that the esteemed editor of this site asked if I wanted to review Norton’s 360 Premium was the day that I found out that one of my email accounts had been compromised in a cyber attack on a New Zealand media organisation.

I think I had entered some competition to win some glamourous prize (as you do) and didn’t give entering my email address as a contact point a second thought. Turns out it was one of thousands caught in the compromising attack.

There was no harm done in the breach, but it did make me think about just how secure I was online, which is where Norton Utilities steps in.

Norton VPN, byte-size feature

I’ve been using a Norton’s VPN in some form for a few years now. Frankly, I wouldn’t go online using either my iPad or my PC without it activated. Even when my life is so boring that I’m sure no hacker could be bothered hacking my accounts.

Norton VPN offers features such as automatically securing your connection if you connect to a compromised network.

Norton 360 Premium Lifelock, review

Anti-virus software is one of things that’s a little bit like house and contents insurance:

You don’t feel you need it so you wonder why you’re paying the premiums. But something when goes wrong,  you’re really glad you had it.

When it comes to anti-virus software, I’ve gone down the free route in the past. AVG, Avast, Karpersky, that sort of thing, which offer basic protection. Without the bells and whistles of the premium products like McAfee or Norton, which is what we’re reviewing here.
