A Way Out – Co-operative Prison Time.

‘A Way Out’ is a unique title with a requirement to play the whole game Co-Op with another player, either via online or on the Couch. No bots here people to fill the void, its time to get social. Honestly though, it’s good fun and the puzzles are not to hard as to cause online salt or old fashion fisty-cuffs on the couch.

Here is a bit of gameplay footage from about 2 hours in to the campaign. As you will see, it was a slick operation with the co-operation levels set to ’11’!

(Yep, that’s a Spinal Tap reference)

THIS WEEK it’s Guardian Radio -Now, I love Destiny, but like much of the player base, I have moved onto other things for the time being. That said, Bungie is quietly…and slowly…working away on improvements.

So, to keep up with the patches and changes, I still tune in every week to the Guardians to hear what the latest patches hold and where the ‘meta’ is going.

If you are a Destiny fan who plans to return at some stage, these guys are still a fun listen.

Every now and then I get an honest to god surprise from a Video Game. I don’t mean by way of story twists or gameplay u-turns, but in how much a game will surpass my preconceived expectations and deliver me a unique and intelligent experience.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life has come out of nowhere to sit on my, albeit very early list for Game of the Year 2018.

There are a lot of things I came to love in my time with Ni No Kuni II.

But there was one thing above all that stuck out to me, and that was the amount of charm this game has, charm that has me hooked, and is one of the many reasons that makes Ni No Kuni II such a fantastic JRPG.

With something a little lighter than Senua… Nina’s back!

Attack on Titan is easily my favorite Anime, but I had no idea what to expect from it in video game form. I am delighted to say that I was really impressed with the experience.

That said though, it is a game for the fans of the Manga and Anime, as without some background knowledge, the overarching canon will take a bit to get your head around.

Indie of the Month – RUINER

Ruiner actually came out in September 2017 and it has always been on my radar, but this month I finally got around to getting some time in front of it. Aaaand, it kicks ass!

The Polish developer Reikon Games boasts some serious pedigree, with some of them being involved in The Witcher, Dying Light and even Cyberpunk 2077.

Shadow of the Colossus Remake, PS4 Video Review

The 2005 Shadow of the Colossus on Playstation 2 was a masterpiece of game design.

Sony have now seen fit to give it a new lick of paint and smooth off its rough ‘old-school’ edges. Importantly though, the Developer entrusted with this remake BluePoint Games, have treated Shadow of the Colossus with the respect it deserves.

It is arguably one of the most important games in recent memory and they could have dragged it into 2018 with some slick, sweeping, modern changes…….thankfully they haven’t.
