Assassins Creed Mirage, Byte Size Review (XSX)

So apparently Assassins Creed has been around for 15 years now. And after the huge outings involved in Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, Assassins Creed Mirage is a step back in size, and in some ways, in time.

Set in Baghdad during the ninth century is indeed a step back in time but more importantly Assassins Creed Mirage is a journey back to the gameplay roots of earlier games in the franchise.

Norton Anti-Track, Byte sized review

Norton Anti-Track is an app and browser extension for Windows PCs that, according to Norton, helps consumers “take control of their online privacy and keep their data private”.

In an age where it seems everything online is trying to keep tabs on your, Norton Anti-track seems to be the perfect antidote to hide your online identity from nefarious websites and trackers.

Replikator, review

Replikator had me at “Top Down Sci-Fi Shooter”. I mean what’s not to love, being a huge Alienation fan and having grown up on the likes of Alien Syndrome, and Alien Breed.

Choose a rag-tag character from a bunch of rag-tag characters, including a Space Racoon. Board some crusty Space Stations and fight your way to the Boss. Yes, we’ve been here before.

Minecraft Legends Byte Size Review (XSX)

Being completely oblivious to this latest Mojang Studios release, my initial thought was of Minecraft Dungeons  and how I had enjoyed that.

I entered the Legends realm with quite a positive outlook. Bring on the Piglins!

Thanks to Microsoft/Xbox for providing a copy of Minecraft Legends to me for review. I really do appreciate it.

Startup Company, PS5

Startup Company Console Edition brings a successful business sim to consoles after a strong outing on Steam. Danish devlopers Hovgaard Games have obviously laboured over this title with love.

Starting from the ground level with minimal investment, the aim is to manage your business empire “to the moon”. Interestingly the simulation is heavily geared towards the Social Media / Online Sales platforms we are familiar with.

On paper this game should be right up my alley, should be.

Somerville Byte Size Review (XSX)

Somerville, the debut release from Jumpship. A new independent studio out of Surrey in the UK co-founded by Dino Patti of Playdead (Limbo and Inside) fame.

And this history is very evident within Somerville. Is it to the same calibre of Inside and Limbo? Not quite, but there is still enjoyment to be had here.

Although I have already mentioned Limbo and Inside as comparisons for Somerville, I think the best way to describe it is Cloverfield meets Another World.

Shootas, Blood and Teef, Switch review

Shootas, Blood and Teef draws on the rich tapestry of the Warhammer 40k Universe.

There have been many, various FPS, Turn-Based games and my personal favourite the dungeon crawler Inquisitor.

On paper it’s a match made in heaven.

The opportunity to step into the heavy boots of Space Orks, crack some bad Dad jokes and blow shit up, will float many boats.

Destiny’s Sword (PC)

Destiny’s Sword describes itself as a “living graphic novel”

To me it’s more akin to the Choose Your Own adventure books that were common place when I was growing up – and that’s not a bad thing, believe me.

Told through comic book-style panels, Destiny’s Sword has you commanding a planetary defense force as it works to keep the peace on the planet Cyris.
